The teaching certificate attests to the successful completion of studies in the theory and practice of teaching with a view to becoming a teacher in the subjects chosen at a school awarding the Matura school-leaving certificate (in Switzerland, a Gymnasium). The diplomas conferred by the ETH Zurich for the programme of studies known as “Teaching Certificate for Matura-awarding Schools” is officially recognized by the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK). Pre-requisites for the awarding of the Teaching Certificate are a Master Degree (or a completed Diploma Programme) and where applicable, the fulfillment of additional scientific research conditions. |
