Every year the Department of Earth Sciences offers two one-week block courses for professionals as part of the CAS ETH in Applied Earth Sciences. These can be taken one at a time, or as a module integrated in an individual study programme. In professional circles, they represent one of the most successful and most popular choices in continuing education offered by ETH.
The continually updated multidisciplinary courses under the heading «Current Issues in Earth Sciences» are broadly based and directed intentionally at a diverse audience. The courses appeal both to young doctoral candidates, and to those already established in their professions who deal with the application of earth sciences and environmental issues.
Courses are usually held in September/October and February/March.
