The three levels of focusTerra’s permanent exhibition are dedicated to diverse topics. As though travelling from the centre of the Earth to the top of the Alps, visitors start on the ground floor with the formation of the Earth and the processes occurring in its interior, ascend past the treasures of the Earth’s crust and finally reach the geological phenomena near the surface, the archives of the Earth’s history, on the top floor. Each level features sections presenting certain subtopics with a focus on their regional relevance and demonstrating the impact of the Earth’s natural phenomena on our daily lives.
Precious stones, animations and models of the Alps invite visitors to linger and learn. An earthquake simulator and various experiments allow them to experience Earth science phenomena first-hand.
